Get Ready to Apply for a Cardiac Transthyretin Amyloid Fellowship!
The International Society of Amyloidosis (ISA) and Pfizer are collaborating to offer several Cardiac Transthyretin Amyloid (ATTR) fellowships for 2023-2024. The program is structured to support experienced amyloidosis centers in hosting fellows from regions where a high level of expertise in cardiac amyloidosis is lacking.
Host institution proposals from leading centers in Australia, the US, Latin America, Europe and Asia (specifically Japan) are currently being vetted by ISA’s Fellowship Working Group and Board of Directors. Selected host institutions and potential fellows will be matched by ISA in March. Fellowships will start on or near July 1, 2023 and end on or near June 31, 2024, unless otherwise determined by the host institution.
Interested in applying for a fellowship? You’ll need to hold an MD degree or equivalent, and either be enrolled in a cardiology fellowship or have completed a cardiology fellowship.
Fellow applications can be submitted starting next week, and will be due on February 27, 2023. With this very short application period, if you are interested in applying for a fellowship you may want to work now to prepare some items you’ll need to complete your application:
- a letter of support from your current home institution, signed by your Director or Department Chair
- a brief summary of your experience diagnosing and treating amyloidosis
- a statement on how the knowledge gained from a Cardiac Amyloidosis Fellowship would be used in your home institution/region
- licensure information
- updated CV.
